How do you play Andar Bahar?
Indian classic, very short rounds: one joker (middle card) is fixed, you bet Andar or Bahar, and the side that first shows a card of the same rank wins. Skill is light — pace is the point.
What is the flow of one Andar Bahar round?
Joker (middle card) is revealed
One card face-up in the centre. That’s the target rank — e.g. an 8 of hearts means you’re waiting for any other 8.
You bet Andar or Bahar
Andar = one side of the table, Bahar = the other. You’re picking which side will hit the matching rank first — not “better cards” in a Teen Patti sense.
Cards deal alternately until a match
Dealer lays cards to Andar, then Bahar, then Andar… First card whose rank equals the joker ends the round. That side wins.
Which side wins in Andar Bahar?
Matching rank appears on the Andar pile first → Andar bets pay.
Matching rank appears on Bahar first → Bahar bets pay.
Deal order note: Many tables start the first card based on the joker’s colour (e.g. black suit → Andar first, red → Bahar first). Exact house rule is on the in-app table — glance once so you’re not surprised by who gets card #1.
What are typical Andar Bahar payouts?
Main side bets are close to even money, with a slight edge built into which side is favoured by deal order:
- Andar — often pays a bit under 1:1 (because the first card may land there more often).
- Bahar — often closer to 1:1.
Some rooms offer side bets on when the match appears (e.g. within first few cards vs later). Higher payout, higher variance — treat as optional, not the main lesson.
Always read the rates on the table you joined; apps can differ slightly.

Is Andar Bahar pure luck?
Mostly yes. There’s no “reading” opponents like Classic Teen Patti. Stake size and session limits matter more than “systems.”
Does suit of the matching card matter?
For the main win, only rank needs to match the joker. Suit of the joker may affect which side is dealt first — not which rank wins.
Is this the same as Teen Patti rankings?
No. You’re not building a 3-card hand. See hand rankings only for Classic / trail-style games.
